Crude and vacuum units relief analysis and mitigation study. Through rigorous calculation of relief load trends over time as related to the fired heater design, the study results identified modifications to the distillation columns and associated fired heaters safety shutdown systems resulting in 46% relief load reduction and capital investment reduction > $100 million.

Naphtha Hydrotreater Complex Dynamic Relief Analysis. A revamp project achieved 50% increased capacity, which triggered an evaluation of the whole relief system of the complex. The study identified existing system capacity and bottlenecks. Targeted modifications resulted in improved safety and capital cost reduction > $250 million

Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) Contingency Analysis. The study was used to assess the ability of the FCCU gas plant relief system to handle an increase in unit feed capacity beyond design rate, and to identify the limitations and bottlenecks in the safety devices. Transient study was conducted following a conventional analysis and resulted in capitalist reduction > $35 million.
